John Brooks
F.W. Cobs Company was founded in 2006 by Shaun Brooks. Shaun had recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Animal Science at the time of founding the company, but had always possessed a lifelong passion for agriculture. Raised with involvement in his father’s feed mill and the family dairy farm, Shaun developed his interest in animal science and farming at a very early age. Shaun’s father, John Brooks, helped Shaun build F.W. Cobs Company with his strong knowledge, having over 40 years of experience in the grain business – founding Brooks Feeds Inc. in Swanton, VT, now owned by Poulin Grain, and also managing feed mill businesses for ADM and Renaissance Nutrition.
F.W. Cobs first started in the Northeast, but quickly grew to having a large North American presence. Utilizing five strategically located grain elevators throughout the US and Canada, F.W. Cobs buys and sells both feed and milling-grade grains; buying directly from the grower and delivering to feed mills and milling companies throughout North America. F.W. Cobs is committed to supplying the best possible Organic, Non-GMO and Conventional Grains that help feed the world through building strong relationships with industry leading growers, thus ensuring premium quality products for its customers.

Now, more than 10 years later, F.W. Cobs serves a diverse customer base ranging from multi-national conglomerates, locally owned and operated feed mills, and family owned and operated farms. We strive to understand our customers’ needs and goals, to build strong relationships based on trust, reliability and competence in the markets we serve.
Our focus is on supporting the Organic industry right here in North America. This philosophy makes us one of the only Organic Grain suppliers that supplies grains grown in the United States and Canada exclusively. We believe in the integrity of the Organic Standard, and we believe in supporting our producers and customers with local markets. F.W. Cobs does not import any Organic Grain from overseas, and we will continue focusing our support on growing the industry only from North American suppliers.

F.W. Cobs participates in the USDA, AMS, National Organic Program (NOP). The NOP accredits private businesses, organizations, and state agencies to certify producers and handlers of agricultural products according to the NOP regulations. The National Organic Program (NOP) develops, implements, and administers national production, handling, and labeling standards.
